Lindsay McKinnon, NCMT, CD(DONA)

Humbling, Valuable, Transformation, Trust, Companion...

Lindsay was raised in North Carolina and earned her bachelors degree in Psychology from Guilford College.  She was a nationally competitive gymnast and gymnastics coach and fully understands the importance of strength and flexibility for health and vitality.  Lindsay also has a background in Youth Ministries. In 1998 she moved to Roanoke, VA and fell in love with her husband, Tom.  Following a deep desire to explore other gifts, Lindsay left her job as a paid Youth Minister to be trained in touch and healing therapies through massage and bodywork.  Married in 2002, she then became fascinated by babies, their journeys into this world, and the creative forces in women that bring them here.  Together, and supported by amazing women, they birthed their children, Patrick and Logan, naturally into this world, and it proved to be the single most life-defining mountain-top experiences of their lives.

Lindsay has been practicing as a Nationally Certified Massage Therapist for eight years, and works with a variety of clients to reach their goals as it relates to massage therapy.  She enjoys reading and attending continuing education opportunities to further her knowledge in the field, and specializes in pregnancy, postpartum and infancy massage.  She is also a certified Birth Doula through DONA and is passionate about her work with women and their birth partners, honoring their own inner wisdom and their body’s natural process; supporting them and empowering them through the rite of passage into parenthood.  It is a rewarding, humbling and valuable experience to be in the midst of such rich, life-transformations with others, and she appreciates her clients’ trust and willingness to invite her as a companion for their journey.
